The Neighbor’s Place

As we approach the holiday season at the First Universalist Unitarian Church of Wausau, we continue our commitment to making a positive impact in our community.

One of the ways we put our values into practice is by dedicating the entire collection from the third Sunday of each month to a selected Ministry Partner or organization whose mission resonates with our principles. For the month of December, we are proud to support The Neighbor’s Place.

The Neighbor’s Place: A Beacon of Hope

The Neighbor’s Place is a local nonprofit organization that has been a beacon of hope for individuals and families in need in the Wausau area for many years.

The Neighbors’ Place helps those in need in north central Wisconsin by providing food and basic necessities, education and connecting clients with services, and treating people with dignity and respect.

Their mission aligns closely with our church’s values of compassion, inclusivity, and social justice. They are dedicated to providing essential services to those facing food insecurity, homelessness, and financial challenges.

Addressing Critical Needs

The Neighbor’s Place operates a food pantry, a community garden, and a host of other programs that address critical needs in our community. Their commitment to ensuring that no one goes hungry is especially crucial after the holiday season when many families face increased financial strain.

How Our Support Helps

By choosing The Neighbor’s Place as our December ministry partner, we are contributing to the well-being of our neighbors in need. The funds collected will directly support their efforts to provide food, emergency financial assistance, and other vital services to individuals and families who are struggling, particularly during this challenging time.
