Supporting Local Students: Free Feminine Hygiene Products for Teens
At First Universalist Unitarian Church of Wausau, we believe in putting our values into action. On the third Sunday of each month, our collection is dedicated to supporting organizations that align with our principles and work diligently to make a positive impact in our community.
For October, we have chosen a cause that directly addresses the needs of our local teens—providing free feminine hygiene products in schools.
Addressing a Vital Need
The lack of access to menstrual hygiene products is a challenge many students in our community face. For some, it can lead to missing school days, embarrassment, and feelings of insecurity. Recognizing the importance of ensuring that all young people access these essential products, we have chosen to support this cause wholeheartedly.
Our October Ministry Partner
This month, our Sunday collection will go toward funding initiatives to provide free feminine hygiene products to teenagers in our local schools. By partnering with schools and community organizations, we can help eliminate barriers that prevent students from fully participating in their education.
Why It Matters
The need for free menstrual products in schools goes beyond just addressing a physical need. It’s about supporting the dignity and well-being of our youth. When students have access to these products, they can focus on their education and personal growth without worrying about basic necessities. It’s a small but significant step toward promoting equity and inclusivity in our community.
How You Can Help
We invite our congregation and the wider community to join us in supporting this vital cause. Your contributions, no matter the size, can make a real difference in the lives of local teens. By coming together, we can ensure that all students have access to the resources they need to thrive.
At the First Universalist Unitarian Church of Wausau, we are committed to making a positive impact in our community, and this month’s collection is a testament to that commitment.
Together, we can create a more equitable and compassionate future for our local teenagers, where their needs are met, and their dignity is upheld. Thank you for joining us in supporting this important cause.
