Granite House
At First Universalist Unitarian Church of Wausau, one of our core values is putting our principles into action. We select a local organization whose mission aligns with our values each month and commit our Sunday collection to support their work. This September, we are honored to introduce our ministry partner, Granite House.
A Beacon of Hope for Struggling Adults
Granite House, founded by a former Wausau Clubhouse manager, has quickly established itself as a beacon of hope for struggling adults in our community. This organization aims to provide vital support, resources, and a safe space for adults facing various challenges, including mental health concerns, addiction, homelessness, and unemployment.
Replacing Community Corner Clubhouse
Granite House has emerged to fill the void left by the closure of North Central Health Care’s Community Corner Clubhouse. Recognizing the importance of such services in our community, Granite House has stepped up to continue this critical work and ensure that individuals in need can access the support they require.
The Granite House will pick up where the closing of North Central Health Care’s Community Corner Clubhouse left off.
The place is designed for adults who need help with drug abuse and mental illness and now members will be getting the help they need again. Including helping them find employment and to have somewhere to socialize with friends again and not be so isolated.
How Our Support Makes a Difference
By partnering with Granite House this September, we are contributing to an organization that embodies the principles of compassion, inclusivity, and social justice that are at the heart of our church’s mission. Our Sunday collection will go directly toward funding programs and resources that will make a tangible difference in the lives of struggling adults in Wausau.
Get Involved
We invite our congregation and community to learn more about Granite House and consider lending your support in any way possible. Whether through financial contributions, volunteering your time and skills, or simply spreading the word about their invaluable work, every effort counts in helping Granite House continue its mission of providing hope and healing to those in need.
At UU Wausau, we are proud to stand alongside organizations like Granite House that positively impact our community. Together, we can uphold our shared values and create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
