Opening the Hand of Thought: Foundations of Zen Buddhist Practice
Monthly Book Discussion Group
Join fellow UU Wausau members for a six-month journey through Opening the Hand of Thought by Kosho Uchiyama, an introduction to Zen Buddhist practice that “goes directly to the heart of Zen practice,” exploring self, peace, and interconnection.
At April’s meeting, we’ll also be looking ahead to future reads. Anyone with a suggestion for potential books or who is interested in participating in future book discussions is welcome to attend.
The group begins on Wednesday, November 12, and will then meet on the first Wednesdays and Thursdays, 6:30–8:00 pm, through April. Please note: there will be no meeting on April 1; the April session will instead be held on April 8. Each session will cover 1–2 chapters with guiding questions shared in advance.
