Your First Visit
Visiting a new church and bringing your family can be daunting, but taking that first step is a wonderful chance to find a community where you can feel valued and supported. Thank you for choosing to take that step with us.
WORSHIP TOGETHER
Join Us This Sunday
Our regular church year Sunday services, at 10:30 AM, draw upon diverse religious and secular traditions. We use contemporary and classical music, literature, poetry, and sacred texts from many religious traditions.
Each service focuses on a theme related to spiritual growth, ethics, or current social issues. We begin each Sunday by lighting our chalice. A typical Sunday service includes a Story for All Ages, congregational singing, and a sermon. Feel free to dress in whatever way you’re comfortable.
Your children are welcome to attend the service with you. After the Story for All Ages, they may attend a religious education class with their peers or stay with you in the sanctuary. Our unstaffed nursery is available for you; if you’d like to stay in the sanctuary but have more room to play, our balcony is set up with a play space for families.
Please make yourself at home and let us know how we can help you find your way. If you have questions, our staff office hours are 9 AM – 2 PM Monday through Thursday, 715-842-3697.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY SUNDAYS
Children & Youth Religious Education
Sunday Morning Religious Education (RE) meets on Sunday mornings from September through May. Children and youth start with their families in worship and then may choose to attend RE or remain in worship with their families.
Elementary RE
Our Elementary RE group explores themes like belonging, love, and creativity through activities of their choice, including stories, games, art, and play! Elementary RE is open to children in K-6.
Youth RE
Our Youth RE group focuses on building relationships and helping each youth feel supported in their spiritual journey. They explore themes like belonging, courage, and resistance through hands-on activities and deep conversation.
Youth Group is open to youth in 7th-12th grade, and they also schedule one-off meetups for social events and service projects.
WORSHIP
Services That Inform & Inspire
On any given Sunday, you will hear a sermon that stimulates your thinking about life, opens a new perspective on the Bible, or speaks to the state of the world with words of hope or healing. Sermons at UU Wausau encompass many topics, but always with the intent of cultivating dialogue and fostering growth.
