Music Director
The Music Director plans the weekly worship services by selecting the music, playing the piano during services, and rehearsing and directing adult choral singers and the drum club. The Music Director’s role is to ensure that music contributes meaningfully to services and enhances the congregation’s spiritual life.
MUSIC DIRECTOR
Meet Margaret Jerz
Margaret is a lifetime music educator with a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Her teaching career included assignments in Florida, New Hampshire, and the D. C. Everest school district.
She is a teaching staff member for World Music Drumming, a curriculum designed to bring West African and Caribbean music into music classrooms. Retired from full-time teaching, she is the Music Director for the First Universalist Unitarian Church of Wausau and leads our choirs and Drum Club.
When she’s not at UU Wausau, she enjoys walking, spending time with friends and family, and is an avid reader. She is the proud mother of three adult children, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. You can find her happily making music here and at the Wausau Conservatory of Music.
