Creativity Matters

Event Series (See All)

June 2 @ 6:30 pm 8:30 pm

Flourishing Together

June’s Creativity Matters theme is Flourishing Together, and invites us to explore ways to let our creativity flourish – making space for inspiration, experimentation, and unexpected directions as we notice, shape, and create what emerges along the way.

Project Options

We will have supplies for Project Options A, E, and F from the monthly Creativity Matters packet*:

  • What Makes Love Flourish: Create your own list of 7–9 qualities or elements that you believe make up love. Then, using any creative medium you choose, design an artistic piece that expresses your list and reflects what love means to you.
  • Tending the Garden of Self: Create a visual “garden of self” using collage, paint, watercolor, or another artistic medium. Reflect on the elements that nurture, challenge, and shape your inner life by using garden imagery such as seeds, plants, tools, weather, animals, and weeds to symbolize your strengths, supports, values, struggles, and areas of growth.
  • The Power of Creating Something Together: Work together to create painted craft-paper flowers that will become a collaborative art installation on our wall. Through shared creativity, participants will contribute their own unique designs while helping build a larger piece that celebrates community, color, and collective expression.

Don’t have a copy of this month’s Creativity Matters guide? Sign up to be part of the mailing list or reach out to our Director of Religious Education for a copy!

What is Creativity Matters?

Our Creativity Matters group helps community members engage in monthly themes and explore spiritual growth through creative expression.

It’s all about allowing our intuition and imagination to guide us, not just our logic and reflective minds. Think of it as making room for your right brain to dance with your left brain.

Creativity Matters is a drop-in teen and adult group designed for everyone — no experience or artistic skill is required! Just bring a playful spirit and adventurous attitude.
