Creativity Matters · Family Heritage

Event Series Event Series (See All)

October 10, 2023 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

A pile of old heritage photos.

October’s Creativity Matters theme is “Heritage,” specifically your/your family’s heritage. This can be interpreted broadly, including but not limited to current family, family of origin, and/or chosen family.

If you have time before our session, our reflection question is:

How has your family heritage shaped your creativity (and/or love of creativity), or who are your “artistic ancestors”? i.e. those creatives who have most shaped your creativity (and/or love of creativity)?

Projects of the Month

We will have supplies for projects Option B and D from the monthly Creative Matters packet:

  • Listen to Photographs of Your Ancestors
  • Creating a Family Heritage Collage

Everyone is invited to bring in any photos or mementos they would like to use and/or your own supplies/ projects. If you don’t want to use original photos, you can scan and print copies on our printer.

*Don’t have a copy of this month’s Creative Matters guide? Reach out to our Director of Religious Education for a copy!

Bring a Friend

What is Creativity Matters?

Our Creativity Matters group helps community members engage in monthly themes and explore spiritual growth through creative expression.

It’s all about allowing our intuition and imagination to guide us, not just our logic and reflective minds. Think of it as making room for your right brain to dance with your left brain.

Creativity Matters is a high school and adult group designed for everyone — no experience or artistic skill is required! Just bring a playful spirit and adventurous attitude.
