SUMMARY:Volunteer Opportunity · Community Supper
DESCRIPTION:The First Presbyterian Church started serving free meals every Sunday beginning in 2006. Our church is one of 17 congregations and community groups that provide meals 52 times each year.  \n\n\n\nPost-pandemic\, meals have been distributed strictly through drive-up. Presbyterian Chuck Schlitz and his committee don’t see this service returning to the dining hall in the near future. \n\n\n\nOur church generously provides meals four times a year\, the first Sundays in October\, November\, February\, and March.  \n\n\n\nPast practice has been to make the food in someone’s home and assemble the food in containers at the church kitchen. Four to five people are needed on those Sundays to help with packing and distribution as people drive up. Typically\, about 100 meals are distributed. \n\n\n\nAny church member interested in helping with these meals can contact Marsha Fitzgerald at 715-298-1419 or 715-551-5618.  \n\n\n\nA special thanks to many of you who have been very generous in providing homemade desserts for distribution and who helped with distribution. \n\n\n\n*This post has been lightly edited for length

Suzelle Lynch (she/her) has been a UU minister for 29 years\, serving congregations in Wisconsin\, Washington\, California and Texas. Prior to ministry\, she worked as a communications professional for a variety of organizations\, including a robot company. Rev. Suzelle is the mother of an aspiring opera singer\, a trained labyrinth facilitator\, and a passionate advocate for racial justice. She also writes songs\, creates upcycled clothing\, and loves hiking with her husband Tom Ness. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Us On Sundays For Services That Inform & Inspire\n\n\n\nSermons at UU Wausau encompass many topics\, but always with the intent of cultivating dialogue and fostering growth. DESCRIPTION:October 1st kicks off a year-long series of intergenerational events called “My UU Family Fun Days.” This is the first in the series and will happen with our October potluck.  \n\n\n\nThe RE Team\, Greg Zavadoski\, Sally Schmidt\, & Joni Hahn\, are hosting the potluck\, and the theme is FInger Foods. We will laugh\, eat well\, and build connections among our church family\, with a hilarious riff on the “speed-dating” trend!  \n\n\n\nEveryone is invited to bring a dish to share (finger foods are encouraged\, but all types of dishes are welcome). However\, if you forget or cannot bring a dish\, please still join us for a delicious meal and some UUFamily Fun.
