Due to large numbers of Babyboomers retiring, Wisconsin and the rest of the nation is experiencing large gaps in the workforce. At the same time, people with disabilities are the most underemployed and unemployed of any single group in the country. Local businesses and public schools are trying to solve this by creating partnerships through workforce initiatives. Project SEARCH which began in Cincinnati, Ohio, has become an international business-led program designed to develop social and employment skills for adults with disabilities. Today we will discuss why this program is important, what it does, and learn more about a new program coming to the Wausau area this fall!
