The Rev. Brian Mason
It’s hard to reconcile failure. Feelings that accompany it seem to linger for a while, sending plagues of restlessness and self-doubt. I remember being taught, as a young adult, that failures are things humans overcome, and that I’ll never actually be my failures. I don’t believe those lessons anymore, however. After all, I’m still the very same person who, indeed, failed. And I’ll be the very same person who will certainly fail again. Perhaps failure isn’t events and choices we overcome, but a part of who we are, a part of our hope and bravery, a part of the richness of our lives, and the love we share.
